Frank Lampard has advised Manchester United to appoint Jose Mourinho ahead of next season, insisting coach and club would work well together.
Manchester United have fight back to challenge for titles since Sir Alex Ferguson retirement as manager in 2013 with Sunday’s defeat 1-0 to West Brom leaving Louis van Gaals side 6th in the Premier League.
The club is expected to substitute the Dutchman at the end of the season with Mourinho being deeply linked to succeed him at Old Trafford.
While the Portugueses spell in charge of Chelsea ended when he was dismissed with the Blues lurking uncertainly close to the relegation zone, Lampard is assured that his former boss would lift Man Utd back to the top of the Premier League.
