Michael Owen is backing Arsenal to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they take on Aston Villa at The Emirates on Sunday afternoon.
The Gunners head into the game looking to bounce back from the disappointment of their 2-2 draw with Watford last weekend.
Arsenal had raced into a 2-0 lead at Vicarage Road but they ended up being pegged back in the second half and were forced to settle for a point.
The North London side have only won two of their opening five games this season and they will be keen to return to winning ways in front of their home fans this weekend.
And former England striker Owen is fully expecting to see the Gunners claim all three points in north London on Sunday afternoon.
Writing in his column for BetVictor, Owen said: “Having come from two-goals down at home to Spurs to rescue a point, Arsenal squandered a 2-0 lead themselves against Watford on Sunday and the Gunners must put an end to the defensive mistakes which have blighted their recent campaigns – although we do seem to say the same thing every week.
“The Gunners face a difficult looking Europa League tie in Frankfurt on Thursday, but they possess such attacking quality that I expect the hosts to run out comfortable winners back at the Emirates.
“I thought Villa were slightly disappointing, despite picking up a point, against West Ham earlier in the week and need to improve if they are not to face a relegation battle this season.”
Arsenal are aiming to try and break back into the top four this season after they finished fifth and without a trophy in Unai Emery’s first campaign in charge last term.
The north London side have not won the Premier League title since their famous unbeaten triumph in the 2003-04 campaign under Arsene Wenger.
