Arsenal to begin search for new attacking transfer targets – report

Arsenal are set to begin a search for new summer transfer targets amid fears that deals for Ryan Fraser and Yannick Carrasco are unlikely to bear fruit, according to reports in the British media.

The Evening Standard, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the Gunners are set to start looking elsewhere for potential new recruits after having difficulty chasing Fraser and Carrasco, both 25.

According to the same story, Unai Emery is “desperate” to bolster his forward line with a winger this summer as he looks to add to his attacking options.

Belgian attacker Carrasco had been touted as a target for the Gunners, but according to the same story, his club Dalian Yifang are playing hardball over a transfer fee.

And the same article says that it is a similar situation with Fraser at Bournemouth, with the Premier League club reportedly wanting a fee close to £30m for the winger.

Scottish attacker Fraser was in fine form for Bournemouth last season, scoring seven goals and making 14 assists in 38 Premier League games for Eddie Howe’s men.

Arsenal do not have the lure of Champions League football to attract new signings this summer after they finished fifth and lost 4-1 to Chelsea FC in the Europa League final.
