Jose Mourinho gives his prediction for Man City v Tottenham

Jose Mourinho is backing Manchester City to beat Tottenham Hotspur and reach the Champions League semi-finals next week.

The Citizens will face a tough assignment against Spurs following Tottenham’s 1-0 win against Manchester City in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-finals last week.

Son Heung-min scored the winning goal in the second half at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to secure a narrow lead for the north London outfit ahead of the return trip to The Etihad.

Manchester City were 1-0 winners thanks to Riyad Mahrez’s goal in their only meeting in the Premier League so far this season.

Former Manchester United manager Mourinho believes Manchester City should find a way past their Premier League rivals in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final.

“That’s really really really really hard. But, I would say City. But I have many doubts. I say City because you want me to say one or another,’ Mourinho told Russia Today, as quoted by Metro.

“But, really really hard because Tottenham can perfectly do it.”

Manchester City fell at the quarter-final hurdle last season after Liverpool FC were 5-2 aggregate winners against Guardiola’s men.

The Reds managed to secure a 2-1 win at The Etihad in the second leg to set up a semi-final meeting with Serie A giants AS Roma last season.

Manchester City will meet either Ajax or Juventus in the Champions League semi-finals if Guardiola can mastermind a comeback in the European tie.

The Citizens are embroiled in a tough battle with Liverpool FC to secure the Premier League title for a second successive season.
