John Barnes believes Mo Salah is having a better season at Liverpool FC than last term.
The Egypt international scored twice in Liverpool FC’s 4-3 victory over Crystal Palace at Anfield last weekend.
Salah has now scored 16 goals in 24 outings in the Premier League this season to lead the division’s goal-scoring charts with 14 games left to play in the campaign.
The 26-year-old is on course to finish as Premier League’s top goal-scorer for the second successive campaign after Salah netted 32 times in his debut season at Anfield.
Salah has made more assists than any other Liverpool FC player this season after the African forward created seven goals for his Reds team-mates.
The former Chelsea FC forward was initially accused of having a poor start to his second season at Liverpool FC when he struggled to find form in the opening months of the 2018-19 campaign.
However, Salah has hit top form in recent months and has now scored 10 times in his last 10 games in all competitions.
Former Liverpool FC forward Barnes believes Salah is playing even better for Klopp’s side in the current campaign.
“He has had a fantastic season once again,” Barnes told The Sport Review.
“He is a fantastic player. In fact, I think he is helping the team to have a better season than he did last year. If you ask me if I prefer Mo Salah this year to last year, I prefer this year.
“He is helping the team to be better and stronger. They are scoring goals in different areas.”
Salah has now scored 50 goals in the Premier League during his spells with Chelsea FC and Liverpool FC.
