Ian Wright was quick to highlight Alisson Becker’s pass in the lead up to Mohamed Salah’s first-half penalty in Liverpool FC’s 5-1 win against Arsenal on Saturday evening.

The Brazil international was unable to prevent Ashley Maitland-Niles from breaking the deadlock in the 11th minute at Anfield after Andy Robertson vacated his left-back position.

Liverpool FC turned the game around thanks to Roberto Firmino’s quick-fire double and Sadio Mane’s cushioned goal to hand the home side a 3-1 lead on Merseyside.

However, Alisson was responsible for perhaps the best moment of the match aside from Firmino’s solo run for his second goal when the Liverpool FC goalkeeper found Salah with a sensational pass from inside his penalty area.

The move started a sequence of passes that led to Salah winning a penalty, which the Egypt international duly dispatched to score his 13th Premier League goal of the season.

Firmino completed his hat-trick with a second-half penalty to leave Liverpool FC nine points clear of second-placed Tottenham Hotspur at the top of the table.

Arsenal legend Wright took to Twitter to rave about Alisson’s pass at the end of the first half.

Wright wrote on social media: “My Gosh the pass by Alisson’s to set up the penalty…”

Former Liverpool FC defender John Arne Riise echoed Wright’s sentiments.

Riise posted on Twitter: “That pass from Alisson!! Goodness me.”
