Roy Keane has tipped Manchester United to sell Paul Pogba next summer after their club record signing was left on the bench for Manchester United’s 3-1 loss to Liverpool FC at Anfield on Sunday evening.

The France international has started on the bench in Manchester United’s last two Premier League games after Pogba struggled badly in a 2-2 draw at Southampton earlier this month.

The World Cup winner was named in Jose Mourinho’s team for their 2-1 loss to Valencia mid-week and Pogba was unable to put himself in contention for a starting spot at Anfield.

Liverpool FC eased to a 3-1 win over Manchester United thanks to substitute Xherdan Shaqiri’s quick-fire double in the second half, but Pogba remained on the bench for the final 10 minutes.

The 25-year-old was named as vice captain earlier this season as Mourinho appeared to offer his Club Record Signing an olive branch after a difficult 2017-18 season.

However, Pogba was stripped of the responsibility after the France star appeared to question his manager’s tactics after a 1-1 draw with Wolves in September.

Pogba has been linked with a potential return to Juventus in recent months, while Real Madrid and FC Barcelona have also been touted as potential destinations.

Former Manchester United captain Keane tipped Pogba to leave next summer.

“Paul Pogba’s days are numbered, they won’t sell him in January but he’ll move on,” Keane told Sky Sports on Sunday.

“It’s no big deal, he’s left United before.

“If you came down from the moon today and knew nothing about football you’d say United are an average Premier League side. Nothing more. They are Manchester United of the 1980s, they can be a decent cup team.”

Pogba has won the Europa League and the League Cup since his return to Old Trafford in 2016.
