Gary Lineker lavished praise on Mohamed Salah for a precise winner in Liverpool FC’s 1-0 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.
The Reds had the chance to move to the top of the Premier League Table after Manchester City were held to a 1-1 draw with promoted side Wolverhampton Wanderers in the early kick-off.
Liverpool FC were 4-0 winners against West Ham United in their Premier League opener at Anfield before a dogged 2-0 victory at Crystal Palace last week to maintain their 100 per cent start.
Salah scored the winner in the first half when he slotted a finish into the far corner after Brazilian forward Roberto Firmino teed up the reigning PFA player of the year.
Liverpool FC were forced to dig deep in the second half as Jurgen Klopp’s defence came under pressure from Brighton, who were 3-2 winners against Manchester United last weekend.
Summer signing Alisson Becker produced a big save at the end of the second half to protect Liverpool FC’s slender lead and his clean sheet record following a £67m move from AS Roma last month.
Former Spurs striker Lineker heaped praise on Salah for his precise finish to secure three points for Liverpool FC and hoist Klopp’s side to the top of the Premier League table.
Lineker wrote on Twitter: “Utterly gorgeous finish from the irrepressible @MoSalah.”
