Chris Sutton rates Paul Pogba’s performance at Man United

Chris Sutton has praised Manchester United star Paul Pogba for transferring his World Cup form to the club stage.

The Red Devils star returned to Manchester United following a busy World Cup campaign in Russia after cutting his break short.

Pogba was handed the captain’s armband for the visit of Leicester City at Old Trafford in their Premier League opener.

The 25-year-old broke the deadlock in the first half thanks to his opener from the penalty spot before Luke Shaw found the net.

The Red Devils record signing has been linked with a potential move to La Liga side FC Barcelona over the past few weeks.

Jose Mourinho questioned why Pogba wasn’t able to produce his talismanic France performances at Man United.

Former Chelsea FC striker Sutton credited Pogba for a brilliant performance in their opening Premier League fixture on Friday.

“He was outstanding,” Sutton told BBC Radio 5 Live.

“He brought the form from the World Cup into a Man United shirt. He was man of the match.”

Manchester United re-signed Pogba in a £89m deal from Serie A giants Juventus in the 2016 summer transfer window.

The Red Devils signed Shakhtar Donetsk star Fred, FC Porto defender Diogo Dalot and Stoke goalkeeper Lee Grant.
