Alexis Sanchez reveals real reason he quit Arsenal for Man United

Alexis Sanchez has revealed that the main reason he chose to sign for Manchester United this year was because of the club’s potential to win the major trophies.

Sanchez opted to leave Arsenal in the January transfer window and move to Old Trafford as part of the same deal which saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan head to The Emirates.

The 29-year-old has made something of a slow start to life at Manchester United but he was voted as the man of the match as he helped the Red Devils to beat Tottenham 2-1 and reach the FA Cup final on Saturday.

Manchester United are currently in second place in the Premier League table and they will be looking to mount a serious title challenge next season.

The Red Devils have not won the Premier League since their famous final triumph under Sir Alex Ferguson back in the 2012-13 season.

And former FC Barcelona star Sanchez seems to feel that the Red Devils can challenge for all of the major trophies next season.

Sanchez is quoted as saying by Goal: “United are special because of their history, they have so much history on a world level.

“You guys can see that when you come to the stadium. The fans too, I have come here and I want to win everything next year with this team and with the coach.”

Manchester United will return to Premier League action next weekend when they take on Arsenal at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils are looking to try and finish as runners-up to Manchester City this term.
