Antonio Conte sends message to Chelsea FC fans about Alvaro Morata injury

Alvaro Morata could be ready to make his return to the Chelsea FC team for their Premier League clash against Bournemouth on Wednesday night, Antonio Conte has said.

The Spanish striker has been struggling with a back injury in recent days and he sat out Chelsea FC’s 3-0 victory over Newcastle United in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon.

Morata has not featured for Chelsea FC since he was sent off in the FA Cup win over Norwich City at Stamford Bridge back on 17 January.

However, Conte is now hoping for some good news about the Spain international as he bids to make his comeback for the west London side.

Speaking at his post-match news conference on Sunday afternoon, Conte said: “Probably [Morata will be fit for Wednesday].

“He is going to start training from tomorrow, but not with us. After a period of rest, tomorrow he will start training.

“After an injury of this type, he needs a bit of time to recover, but at the same time we hope to have this player very soon.”

Chelsea FC head into their clash with Bournemouth looking to make it back to back wins in the Premier League after their impressive 4-0 win over Brighton last weekend.

The west London side are currently in third place in the Premier League table as they look to try and get as close to the two Manchester clubs as possible before the season is out.

Chelsea FC finished top of the table last term in Conte’s first campaign in charge at Stamford Bridge.
