Antonio Conte has two top-class goalkeepers at his disposal at Chelsea FC, Garth Crooks has claimed.
The Blues boss opted to start Willy Caballero in goal for Chelsea’s 4-0 win against Brighton and Hove Albion at the weekend.
Caballero excelled in Thibaut Courtois’ absence due to an ankle problem as the Blues moved three points clear of Liverpool FC.
The Paraguay international moved to defending Premier League champions Chelsea FC from current leaders Manchester City in the summer.
Courtois has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the world during decorated spells at Atletico Madrid and Chelsea FC.
Former Spurs forward Crooks believes Conte now has two world-class goalkeepers to call upon at Stamford Bridge.
“What Caballero has given Chelsea, and Conte for that matter, is options,” Crooks told BBC Sport.
“The Blues are fighting on a number of fronts and next face Arsenal on Wednesday in their Carabao Cup semi-final. Should that game go to penalties, Caballero will have the psychological advantage and the penalty-takers will know that.
“However, what is abundantly clear is that when Courtois is fit again, Chelsea will have two top-class goalkeepers to choose from. That’s not a bad problem to have.”
Chelsea FC have won the Premier League title in two of the past three seasons under Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte.
The Blues haven’t won the Champions League crown since 2012 and the Blues will have to find a way past Barcelona in the last 16.
The west London side signed England international Ross Barkley in a £16m deal from Premier League rivals Everton in the January transfer window.
