Steven Gerrard reacts to Liverpool FC’s 3-2 loss to West Brom

Steven Gerrard admitted that Jurgen Klopp will not be happy with Liverpool FC’s performance after they were knocked out of the FA Cup at the hands of West Brom on Saturday night.

The Reds took the lead through Roberto Firmino’s brilliant chipped finish in the fifth minute, but Jay Rodriguez soon levelled for the visitors at Anfield in the fourth-round clash.

Rodriguez then added a second to make it 2-1 in the 11th minute, before a Joel Matip own-goal made it 3-1 before half-time.

Liverpool FC did manage to pull a goal back in the second half through Mohamed Salah but there was to be no comeback as the Reds slumped to a disappointing defeat in front of their home fans.

And speaking on BT Sport after the game, Liverpool FC legend Gerrard said: “Klopp won’t be happy, especially with the first 45 minutes.

“Liverpool weren’t good enough. It could have been more than 3-1 at half-time. West Brom caused Liverpool all kinds of problems.”

The FA Cup loss followed their disappointing loss to Swansea City in the Premier League last week as their top-four hopes took a blow.

The Reds must now dust themselves down as the prepare for their Premier League clash against Huddersfield Town on Tuesday night.

Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last season and they will be seeking Champions League qualification once again this term.
