Thierry Henry sends clear message to Chelsea fans about Eden Hazard

Thierry Henry has urged Chelsea to keep hold of Eden Hazard for as long as possible, but insisted that the Blues would be able to find a replacement for the Belgian should he leave the club.

The 25-year-old playmaker has developed into one of the Premier League’s finest attacking talents since his move to Chelsea from French side Lille back in 2012.

Hazard has won two Premier League titles and a number of other major trophies since his arrival at the club and he was voted as the PFA player of the year back in 2015.

The attacker was on target from the penalty spot in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal on Wednesday night as he scored his sixth Premier League goal of the season.

Hazard has regularly been linked with a possible move to Real Madrid in the past but it remains to be seen where his long-term future lies.

Henry believes that Chelsea should do what they can to keep hold of the Belgium international but insisted that the Blues would be able to find an adequate replacement were he to leave.

Speaking on Sky Sports on Wednesday, Henry said: “It goes without saying that you want him to stay.

“Teams like Chelsea usually managed after losing big players. You don’t want to lose Eden Hazard, especially the way he’s playing right now. [But] they could find a guy to replace him.

“I’m not saying he should go, I’m saying yes, if he goes, it’s Chelsea – they will find someone.”

Chelsea return to FA Cup action with a third-round clash against Norwich City on Saturday.
