Paul Scholes believes that Chelsea star N’Golo Kante is the “perfect” modern midfielder in the Premier League.

The France international earned huge amounts of praise for his strong performances for the west London club last season as he helped Antonio Conte’s men to lift the Premier League trophy last season.

Indeed, Kante was voted as the PFA player of the year as he helped Chelsea to win the title for the second time in three seasons.

The midfielder has been in good form for Chelsea once again this term, with Kante having scored one goal in 15 Premier League appearances for Conte’s side.

Scholes knows a thing or two about what it takes to be a successful Premier League midfielder from his time at Manchester United.

And the Red Devils legend has admitted that he is a huge fan of Chelsea midfielder Kante.

Scholes is quoted as saying by Metro: “The perfect midfielder in the Premier League today is more the style of N’Golo Kante.

“For me, he can do anything — defend, attacking, dictating the tempo, scoring goals, he can bring the game forward.”

Kante will be expecting to feature for Chelsea when the Blues return to Premier League action on Boxing Day with a home clash against Brighton.

The Blues are aiming to defend their title this season but currently find themselves in third place in the table, with Manchester City flying high at the top of the table.
