Michael Owen is backing Manchester City to continue their winning run against Tottenham Hotspur at Etihad Stadium on Saturday evening.
The Citizens manage to protect their winning run last weekend when Pep Guardiola’s side made the short trip to Old Trafford.
Goals from David Silva and Nicolas Otamendi helped Manchester City to secure a 2-1 win over the Red Devils.
Manchester City set a new Premier League record with their 15th successive Premier League win following a 4-0 win at Swansea City on Wednesday night.
Tottenham will make the trip to the Premier League leaders looking to continue their recent return to form following a four-game winless run.
Spurs were 2-0 winners against Brighton and Hove Albion at Wembley mid-week ahead of their trip to the north of England.
Former Manchester United striker Owen is tipping Manchester City to beat Tottenham in their next Premier League game on Saturday evening.
“Manchester City are without a win in their last four Premier League games against Spurs and, surprisingly perhaps, the north London outfit have won more away games against City (10) than they have at any other PL club,” Owen told BetVictor.
“That said City have been irresistible so far this season and their record-breaking 15 successive PL wins shows no sign of stopping.
“Pep Guardiola won 19 Bundesliga games in a row between October 2013 and March 2014 when in charge of Bayern Munich and I would expect him to be challenging his City side to break that extraordinary record.
“Spurs could easily score at the Etihad but I expect City to score more.”
Manchester City are 11 points clear of their closest Premier League challengers Manchester United in the title race.
Tottenham hoisted themselves back into the top four thanks to their 2-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion on Wednesday night.
Spurs finished ahead of the Citizens last season in second place in the table.
