Mohamed Salah was praised by the Liverpool FC owner’s wife Linda Pizutti after his standout performance in Saturday’s s 3-0 win over Southampton.
The summer signing broke the deadlock with a brilliant curled finish before he netted from close range to take his tally to nine goals in 12 Premier League games this term.
The Reds board sanctioned the £39m signing of the Egypt international from Serie A giants AS Roma in the summer transfer window despite his disappointing previous spell at Chelsea.
Salah lasted six months at the west London club before he was sent on loan to Fiorentina and then AS Roma after being deemed surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge.
He rebuilt his career following a permanent move to AS Roma before Liverpool FC opted to sign Salah in a then club-record deal at the start of the 2017 summer transfer window.
The African forward took his tally to seven goals in 11 games with a double in a 4-1 win at West Ham United before the international break before he struck twice in Liverpool FC’s 3-0 win over Southampton at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.
And John W Henry’s wife Pizutti, who is an avid Liverpool FC fan, took to Twitter to praise Salah after the Egyptian became the league’s top goal-scorer.
Pizutti wrote on Twitter: “Another clean sheet today for the reds! A brace for Salah, who now has 14 goals for @LFC… #LIVSOU.”
