Juan Mata has sent a good-luck message to Andreas Pereira after the Manchester United youngster signed a new contract with the Red Devils over the weekend – and then headed out on loan to Valencia.

Manchester United announced on Saturday that the 21-year-old had penned a new contract with the Red Devils to keep him at the club until at least June 2019, with the option to extend for a further year.

However, the youngster will not feature for Manchester United this season after agreeing a loan move to Spanish side Valencia for the 2017-18 campaign.

Nonetheless, Mata is hoping to see Pereira enjoy a successful season in the Spanish league before aiming to break into the first team at Old Trafford next term.

Mata wrote on his personal blog: “I’d like to wish the best of luck to Andreas Pereira in Valencia, he’s a great player and I hope he has a good season and the fans can enjoy it.”

Mata will be hoping to feature for Manchester United in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon when the Red Devils return to action with a crunch clash against Stoke City.

The Red Devils are currently leading the way at the top of the Premier League table.
