Manchester United are still closing in on a deal to sign Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan this summer, according to Tancredi Palmeri.
The Red Devils have been heavily linked with a bid to sign the 28-year-old Croatian winger for much of the current transfer window but the Premier League club are thought to be struggling to agree a fee with Inter Milan.
Perisic is currently abroad on Inter Milan’s pre-season tour and it remains to be seen whether Manchester United will be able to conclude a deal to sign the winger this summer.
However, Italian journalist Palmeri is confident that the Red Devils will end up landing Perisic from the Serie A club.
Speaking to the Daily Express, Palmeri said: “If I had to bet, I think Perisic will move to Manchester United this summer.
“But you must remember, everything can change in 24 hours. That’s something people should always keep in mind.
“Take Willian, for example. He was in a room signing for Tottenham at 6am, then at midnight he signed for Chelsea.
“It’s not only about the player, it’s about how flexible the club is to selling them. Sometimes it’s firm one day then, the day after, it’s off because other parameters change. It should always be kept in mind that one negotiation is linked to other negotiations.”
Manchester United are currently preparing for a return to the Champions League next season after they won the Europa League under Jose Mourinho last term.
The Red Devils will be hoping to improve their Premier League form next season after they finished in a disappointing sixth place last term.
