Paul Ince is backing Mohamed Salah to be a success at Liverpool.
The Egypt international became the second signing of the 2017 summer transfer window at Anfield on Thursday evening.
The 25-year-old put pen to paper on a long-term deal after Liverpool agreed a reported club-record fee to sign the winger from Serie A giants AS Roma.
Salah will compete with Liverpool trio Philippe Coutinho, Adam Lallana and Sadio Mane for a starting spot in Jurgen Klopp’s side next term.
The African star struggled during his first spell in the Premier League after Chelsea signed the attacking midfielder in an £11m deal from Swiss side Basel in January 2014.
However, Salah has impressed during a three-season stay in Serie A with Fiorentina and Roma and established himself as one of the best players in the Italian top flight.
Former Liverpool midfielder Ince is confident that Salah will have a positive impact on Klopp’s side in the 2017-18 campaign as the Reds prepare for a return to the Champions League.
“I think it’s a good bit of business,” Ince told Sky Sports News HQ.
“I watched him play a lot this year at Roma. He scored a few goals, 15 or 16 I think he got playing from the right wing.
“Long-range, in the box, I think this is a good bit of business. It didn’t work for him at Chelsea, he didn’t get enough game time I don’t think. What he’s done he’s gone away, got his confidence back, he’s come back to a great club like Liverpool and I think he will be a great addition to Liverpool.
“I think the fans will enjoy seeing him play.”
Salah scored 15 goals and made 11 assists in Serie A last term as Roma finished as runners-up behind Juventus.
