Paul Pogba sends message to reported Man United transfer target

Paul Pogba has sent a message of support to Gianluigi Donnarumma after the goalkeeper was subjected to taunts from his own fans.

Italy supporters threw fake banknotes onto the pitch during their side’s European Under-21 Championship victory over Denmark on Sunday.

The game had to be temporarily suspended as the fake money was collected, with the stunt having been designed to mock the young goalkeeper after he apparently rejected the offer of a new contract at AC Milan.

Donnarumma has been linked with a possible transfer to Manchester United in the last few months, and Pogba’s Message for the shot-stopper on social media is likely to do little to quell the speculation suggesting he could be set for a move to Old Trafford.

Pogba wrote on Twitter: “Donnarumma soon best in the deserves only respect for all he’s done until now #forzaGigi.”

Manchester United are believed to be on the lookout for a host of new players this summer as the Red Devils gear up for a return to the Champions League next season.

However, despite all of the speculation, the Red Devils have thus far only confirmed the signing of defender Victor Lindelof from Benfica.
