Guillem Balague reveals Man United would love to sign 24-year-old Champions League winner

Guillem Balague has revealed that Manchester United would love to sign Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata in the 2017 summer transfer window.

The Spain international came off the bench in the second half of the Champions League final on Saturday evening as Real Madrid eased to a 4-1 win against Serie A holders Juventus.

Morata moved to Real Madrid from Juventus in the 2016 summer transfer window but the centre-forward failed to secure regular first-team football under Zinedine Zidane.

Morata has scored 20 goals in 40 appearances in all competitions in the 2016-17 campaign but the forward has been linked with a move to the Premier League this summer.

Manchester United have been touted as a potential destination for the Spanish striker this summer after Jose Mourinho ended their interest in Antoine Griezmann.

La Liga expert Balague revealed during the Champions League final that Manchester United are keen on signing the former Juventus striker.

Balague wrote: “Lovely gesture of ZZ with Morata who might be playing his last game for RM. MUFC would love to sign him and has contacted Real already.”
