Gary Neville discusses his big doubts about Arsenal under Arsene Wenger

Gary Neville has claimed that Arsenal’s 2-2 stalemate with Manchester City has done little to boost their slim chances of finishing in the top four.

The Gunners came from behind twice to rescue a point against Pep Guardiola’s side but the north London side are now seven points adrift of fourth-placed Manchester City.

Arsenal have played two games less than Liverpool, who occupy third spot, but Jurgen Klopp’s side extended their lead over the Gunners to eight points thanks to their Merseyside derby win on Saturday.

Arsene Wenger is facing an uncertain future at the north London club as his contract runs down ahead of its expiration at the end of the 2016-17 season.

The Arsenal manager is reported to have been offered a new two-year contract extension but the manager has failed to give any indication whether he will sign the new deal.

Speaking to Sky Sports after Arsenal’s 2-2 draw with Manchester City, Neville said:

“It still leaves Arsenal in the same position, where there are big doubts about them getting into the top four. City should have won that match but they’re not ready to win the league.”
