N’Golo Kante: These three Chelsea stars deserve PFA award, not me

N’Golo Kante has insisted that Chelsea stars David Luiz, Diego Costa and Eden Hazard are set to challenge him for the PFA player of the year award this season.

The midfielder has been earning rave reviews for his fine performances for Chelsea this season after helping Antonio Conte’s men build a 10-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.

Kante joined Chelsea from Leicester City last summer and has been in sublime form for the west London side to help them firmly establish themselves as the favourites for the title.

It has been suggested that Kante is one of the leading candidates to win the PFA player of the year award this season.

However, the player himself feels that he faces direct competition for that accolade from some of his Chelsea team-mates.

When asked about being the favourite for the PFA player of the year award, Kante told Canal+: “It would be something beautiful.

“But there are quite a few players in the Premier League who can deserve this title, just in my team already: Eden, Diego Costa, David Luiz.”
