Jack Wilshere has taken to social media to proclaim that Wayne Rooney is “by far” the best player he has ever lined up with.

Rooney hit the headlines on Saturday after be became Manchester United’s all-time top scorer thanks to his late goal in the Red Devils’ 1-1 draw with Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium.

Wilshere is currently on loan to Bournemouth from Arsenal and has Played alongside the likes of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez for the Gunners.

However, the Arsenal man ignored his team-mates and hailed Rooney as the best player he has ever featured with.

Wilshere posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account on Saturday and wrote the caption: “Unbelievable achievement @waynerooney proper captain and by far the best I have played with #RoleModel”

It remains to be seen whether Wilshere still has a future at Arsenal after the Gunners brought in midfielder Granit Xhaka in the summer transfer window before the England international was shipped out to Bournemouth on loan.
