Alan Smith has a warning for Arsenal over Premier League title

Alan Smith believes that Arsenal’s actual Premier League title credentials cannot be judged until the end of November.

The Gunners have earned plenty of praise for their performances in recent weeks and are being touted as genuine contenders for the top-flight crown.

Arsenal have not lifted the Premier League trophy since their famous unbeaten triumph in the 2003-04 season, when they were still playing at Highbury.

Arsene Wenger’s led his side to a second-placed finish in the top flight last season as they ended up without a trophy.

Arsenal have in the past struggled to maintain consistent form at certain stages of the season.

And former Gunners striker believes that fans should only start judging the north London side’s title credentials until after the end of November.

Speaking on Sky Sports News HQ on Friday morning before Arsenal’s game with Middlesbrough, Smith said: “Going back through the years, November hasn’t been a great month for Arsenal – nervous November.

“Those are the games where you’re going to judge them.”
