The start of the 2018 NFL Season is right around the corner. Free agency is set to begin on March 12th when teams can start the legal tampering period but can’t sign players until March 14th.

As a 49ers fan, I have to say this is the most excited I have been in a long, long time. It is amazing what Jimmy Garoppolo has done for this time in such a short time. The amazing thing are how quick the odds have changed since Jimmy became starting QB.

San Francisco has surprisingly opened as short as +1700 to reach the Super Bowl 53, but some are saying that you should not get sucked in by the hype; if you are fond of the 49ers, hold out for the better odds that lie ahead, you can periodically check the sports betting sites listed here to compare who has the best price before you place your bet.

So with that being said we’ll take a quick look at the players we think would be best to sign during the free Agent period.

DB Trumaine Johnson – 49ers need help in the secondary and Johnson’s size is just what the 49ers are looking for.
DB Aaron Colvin – Colvin would make a great slot receiver for the 49ers, he has worked with defensive coordinator Robert Saleh, while both were with Jacksonville
WR Sammy Watking – Most would say Allen Robinson would be the better get, but I disagree. Watkins would be the good big body the 49ers would need in the redzone. Playing with Goodwin in Buffalo could help land the receiver.
RB Dion Lewis – Signs are pointing to the fact that Hyde won’t be back, so the 49ers should sign the speedy running back and reunite him with Jimmy Garoppolo
OG Josh Sitton – 49ers most likely wont land Andrew Norwell, so they should turn their attention to the second best guard on the market. Vet Sitton will give the 49ers solid line on the left as he plays alongside Staley. Jimmy can always use more protection.

Those are just a few, I’m sure the 49ers will look at some lower tier guys for competition. Regardless of how it plays out I’m excited for this season
