NBA Primetime. Boston v. San Antonio

The anticipation and suspense of the MLB season has begun. The Cincinati Reds getting a walk off homerun and the St. Louis Cardinals and San Diego Padres coming down to the wire in the ninth inning. However, the most intriguing games of any sport tonight is happening on TNT at 8:00 ET

The first game will be in San Antonio and the Celtics visit the Spurs. This is definitely an interesting game. The Celtics have been struggling as of late. Is it the same old Doc Rivers trick? It seems that the Celtics get bored in the regular season. It does not matter what seed they have going into the Playoffs, except for this year. The Celtics better wake up or they might have to play the upset minded Knicks (currently in 7th place in the Eastern Conference) or if they lose all motivation they could slip down to the 4th seed and play the Orlando Magic or Atlanta Hawks. The Celtics might be one of the best teams, if not THE best team in the NBA. But they don't try half the time. Doc Rivers rests half of the team so they are ready for the playoffs. I understand his thinking, but if you get a better seed, logic tells you that you will have an easier road to the championship. The Celtics have lost 7 of their last 12 basketball games. It happens every year.

Enter the San Antonio Spurs, the great team in the NBA that no one is talking about.

The Spurs are a league best 57-17, along with being 33-4 at home coming into tonight's game. The Spurs' "Big Three" were out for their last game against the Portland Trail-Blazers, where they lost by eight points. Duncan, Ginobili and Parker all should be back for the Spurs tonight for this game. The Spurs are also one of the best, if not THE best team in the NBA. The Spurs have more offensive weapons on their team, including Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, Tim Duncan, Matt Bonner, Richard Jefferson, Gary Neal, along with the up-and-coming scoring wizard George Hill. In the end, I think the game will come down to Boston's defense against San Antonio's offense. That, and the fact that the game is in San Antonio will be the recipe for success.

I see San Antonio continuing their dominance home and an under-par performance from the Boston Celtics in an 8 point victory.

Spurs 102
Celtics 94
