Wild Game 1 of the Western Conference Final

Hockey fans far and wide expected lots of goals in this Western Conference Final between the Colorado Avalanche and Edmonton Oilers. The two squads showcase a handful of the most talented players in the game today. Fans saw an 8-6 All-Star game. It’s definitely fun for fans to watch, but not the blueprint to follow if you want any chance at the Stanley Cup.

Cale Makar had a goal and two assists, J.T. Compher scored twice, and Mikko Rantanen, Nathan MacKinnon, and Gabriel Landeskog each had a goal and an assist for the Avalanche, the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference.

Connor McDavid had a goal and two assists, and Evander Kane and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins each had a goal and an assist for the Oilers, who are the No. 2 seed in the Pacific Division.

As I said, very wild game for the fans. However, everyone else involved cannot be completely happy.

You should be seeing baseball scores in hockey games this time of year.

Both teams will be way better in Game 2.
