The Carolina Hurricanes have signed forward Andrei Svechnikov to an eight-year, $62 million contract extension with an average annual value of $7.75 million.
Svechnikov, 21, had 15 goals and 42 points in 55 games last season with Carolina, including two goals and eight points in 11 playoff games.
