Inter Milan Give Spalletti Dreaded Vote Of Confidence

Beppe Marotta insists Inter have ‘complete confidence’ in Coach Luciano Spalletti, despite links with former Juventus boss Antonio Conte.

According to Repubblica, Conte is on top of Marotta’s shortlist to replace Luciano Spalletti.

The future of Spalletti has not been decided yet but several reports claim the Inte boss could lose his job at Inter if he fails to win or at least come close to winning, at least one trophy this season.

The Serie A giants face Lazio in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals tonight and are still in the race to win the Europa League after being eliminated from the Champions League group stage.

The strong relationship between Conte and Marotta is something that should concern Spalletti and his future at the club. His contract with the Nerazzurri expires in 2021 but the shadow of Antonio Conte is getting bigger and darker.

Conte replied ‘no comment’ to a question about replacing Spalletti at Inter earlier on Thursday evening, but Marotta made it clear the Nerazzurri were sticking with Spalletti.

“Milan isn’t just a beautiful city, it’s a big city,” the CEO told Sky Sport Italia before the Beneamata’s Coppa Italia quarter-final against Lazio.

“It only seems right to me that a citizen like him can walk into the city centre. Spalletti’s doing well. The club have complete confidence in him.”
