Boxingscene.com has confirmed that the earnings of Joshua Clottey will be at least $1 million when he goes head-to-head with Manny Pacquiao in March.
Joshua Clottey was once a poor kid growing up in Ghana, and deserves this more than anyone else. Clottey has been a professional fighter since 1995.
Recently Clottey turned down a fight which was to premiere on Top Rank's new Fox Sports Boxing Program and many feared this was the wrong move. Clottey felt that this fight was not up to his level and he felt he deserved to fight bigger fights on HBO. Only a few days later after the negotiations for Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather broke down, Joshua Clottey received the chance of a lifetime.
Clottey who is only 32 years old, is in for a huge seven figure check payday which will immediately make him a millionaire. Clottey said that he wishes to fight Antonio Margarito and Miguel Cotto again. Clottey said when he fought Cotto he was robbed, and when he was fighting Margarito he hurt both his hands in the fight so he couldn't fight as well as he wanted to. He feels this cost him the fight.
