Gareth Bale Scores On Return To Real Madrid Lineup

Gareth Bale is already ‘flying’ on his Real Madrid return after the Welshman made a stunning impact off the bench for Zinedine Zidane’s team.

Bale came on against Espanyol in the 71st minute and made his mark in the 83rd with a superbly well-taken goal rounding off a counter attack.

The former Tottenham man had been out since November with an injury to his ankle and the Spanish press heaped praise on the rapid forward for his immediate impact.

Marca ran the headline ‘flying’ with a picture of Bale leaping into the air in celebration. The Madrid publication focused on the Cardiff man as the hero from Zidane’s side’s 2-0 victory.

Marca wrote that Bale’s composed finish put the icing on the cake of the victory for Los Blancos at the Bernabeu.

AS meanwhile also concentrated on the comeback of the Welsh flyer and included Zidane’s quote that he is a ‘special’ player on their front page whilst noting the 88 day absence before his stunning return.

The 27-year-old helped his team move four points clear at the summit of La Liga with Barcelona still to play.

After the game Zidane said: ‘

It doesn’t look like he’s been out for three months. He’s very powerful, he makes the difference and that’s why he’s special.

‘Gareth is Gareth. We have only got one Gareth Bale, but we’ve got other players who are doing a great job.’
