There Coach Pitino stood in his Louisville shirt in front of a huge Louisville banner to tell the media, whom his reps called to a press conference, to go away. In a nutshell, our country has better things to focus on than his personal affairs. He is not so pathetic as he is sad. He wanted to remind everyone that Ted Kennedy has died, that the economy is worse off, and that the sports world should go find another Story to occupy its day. He basically says that everything up unto this point has been "lies" (well of course except what he has said). True, Rick is not under any criminal indictment, as is Ms. Sypher, but his charisma will not work for a media frenzy. He speaks of having to comfort his wife as she has had a difficult 7 months dealing w/this blackmail and extortion. Who helped contribute to her difficulties? Does he really believe this story will just simply go away? Anything that comes out about the story will be made available for the world to see. Do I think he should lose his job over all this? Of course not, because if anyone was ever fired for cheating on their spouse, there would be alot more people out of work. Dont expect us to just turn away each time his name is mentioned over the TV. Not gonna happen.
