Fishing Report at 13th December 2021

During Winter, stillwater trout Fishing offers very exciting sport. Recently we’ve dodged the worst of the weather, taking advantage of the best conditions to work with clients and enjoy a little more free time waterside ourselves. Pictured is Steve showing the quality of fish that can be caught right now. A time when many people do not consider trout fishing!

Winning tactics have been Nymph and lure fishing, with floating, sink tip and intermediate fly lines, fishing lures in black, white, orange, olive, yellow, red and nymph patterns such as bloodworm, buzzers, HE nymph.

On the rivers we’ve run a few days chasing grayling. Focusing on weighted nymphs and bugs now, getting them on the riverbed with quality presentation. We’ve rescheduled several dates due to river conditions which is standard practice at this time of year.
