Platini Hits Out At Sir Alex Ferguson

UEFA president Michel Platini has accused Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson of disrespecting Europa League.

Sir Alex Ferguson said that being relegated to Europa League was a penalty his team has to pay for their weak performance.

"The world does not revolve around England," said Platini. "I like England, its football is fantastic and its supporters are wonderful."

"But you shouldn't criticize the Europa League just because you've played in three Champions League finals.

"The Europa League is a brilliant competition, it's amazing. I know Mr Ferguson would have preferred to be in the Champions League but so would many clubs who don't have that possibility."

I really don't see how Sir Alex Ferguson disrespected the Europa League. He said he wanted to win it, the only reason why he said it was a penalty is that Manchester Untied don't belong there.
