Manchester United defender Patrice Evra is a major doubt for the season opener. Evra was forced out due to injury against Manchester City last Sunday.

Darren Fletcher (virus) and Antonio Valencia are pencilled in for reserve-team appearances on Monday, while Javier Hernandez (concussion) is out for another fortnight.
