Match Review: West Bromwich Albion 1-2 Manchester United

Manchester United got all three points despite a horrifying performance by the newly signed goal keeper David De Gea. On the day where Ashley Young proved that he belongs in the Manchester United first team, De Gea tried to prove that he might not be just right man in goal for United.

Manchester United started with Rooney and Welbeck on top with, Young and Nani on the wings, Anderson and Cleverley in the center of the midfield, Smalling, Ferdinand, Vidic, Fabio in defense, while De Gea supposed to protect the United's goal.

Manchester United opened the with Wayne Rooney's goal from the ball provided by Young. Rooney's left footed effort proved unstoppable against his former team mate Ben Foster.

Wet Brom's equalizer came from a mistake by De Gea who had already flapped at two crosses before allowing Long’s daisy-cutter on the turn to pass him by in the 37th minute.

Manchester United who were playing rather ordinary as compared to the expectations of many went into half time level at 1-1.

Second continued as the first half ended Manchester United with a lot of possession but no goal. Nani didn't look as sharp as he looked against Manchester City.

Manchester United winning goal came from a deflection as Steven Reid scored an own goal to give Manchester Untied a lead that they were able to keep till the end of the game as they came away with all three points from their opening game.
