I had just bought my 2005 Silver Gray E46 M3 and brought it home. I received a notification from Craigslist that another E46 M3 had just come available on the market – a 2005 BMW E46 M3 in Alpine White with 6MT and Dove Gray Interior. I called the owner and the next day I was looking at it. The car was incredibly clean and well taken care of, only a two owner car, so I had to jump on it.

Now I was the owner of two E46 M3’s at the same time.

One of my friends said he would buy my Silver Gray E46 M3, so it worked out perfect and I kept the Alpine White one.

The car in many ways, engine bay especially, looked brand new. The car had right under 110,000 miles but you couldn’t tell it from the way it drove and how clean every aspect of the engine was. The previous owner took great care of it and it showed. The S54 engine was all original and did not have any rod bearing service done. However, the vanos was upgraded with Dr Vanos components which were (if not still are), some of the most expensive on the market. Drivetrain was completely stock and all original 6 speed manual transmission (6MT). The previous owner replaces all bushings so it shifted nice and crisp.

One of the first modifications was Fortune Auto Coilovers. I opted for the 510 track series with Swift Springs. The Fortune Auto coilovers came with front camber plates, which was really nice. Many E46 M3 coilovers, or many for BMW M cars in general, do not come with front upper mounts so you’re forced to buy Ground Control or Vorshlag which is an added cost.

Once the Fortune Auto coilovers were installed and adjusted, I installed the APEX ARC8 Wheels in Black Satin. The OEM center caps fit onto the wheels which was a nice touch and the wheels looked like they belong. I opted for 18×9.5 wheels instead of the standard square 18×10 to make sure that the fronts fit without excessive amounts of camber. I then wrapped them in 265/35/18 Federal 595-RSRR tires.

I added a carbon fiber front lip which was a CSL style. The previous owner had paint matched front side markers and the rest of the front end was stock. I thought the car had a great stance.

Inside the car was pretty much stock. It had the factory Dove Gray leather in fairly good shape. I did upgrade the stock OEM headunit to an Eonon Android Deck to give me some modern features such as Bluetooth.

I ended up selling this car to a great friend and he has been enjoying the car ever since. I do miss this one, but happy it’s in good hands.
