The Mighty Titans Triumph: IPL 2023 Final Champions Crowned

Chennai Super Kings defeated Gujarat Titans in the final of IPL 2023 to win the record-breaking fifth trophy. In a thrilling final Ravindra Jadeja was the king of the night as he smashed the two final balls to win the match.

It was a match over two days in which both teams played. On the 28th of May, not a single ball was bowled due to rain, and the match was postponed until the 29th day of May.

Chennai won the toss and chose to start the game first, as Gujarat scored 214/4. Following the fact that Chennai got to the DLS goal of 171 after just 15 overs. Despite numerous rain interruptions, CSK finally put their trophy down in Ahmedabad. 

Most Title Wins

IPL 2023 With this win, CSK tied with the Mumbai Indians for the most titles with captain MS Dhoni lifting the title for the fifth time.

Kolkata Knight Riders have won twice, Gujarat Titans, under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya, have won once, and Rajasthan Royals was the inaugural winner in the year 2008.

Sunrisers Hyderabad and Deccan Chargers have both won. Deccan Chargers and Sunrisers Hyderabad have both won, with Royal Challengers Bengaluru yet to take home the trophy.

LSG leaves an impression: IPL 2023

Lucknow Super Giants, under the direction of KL Rahul, scored the most impressive score of IPL 2023. Marcus Stoinis, Nicholas Pooran and Ayush Badoni were the top performers to record a stunning score of 257/5. Punjab lost by 56 runs.

Rajasthan crumbles

If Lucknow was a memorable experience, scoring the highest score of IPL 2023, however the Rajasthan Royals succumbed to 59 out which was their lowest total of the tournament.

They posted a modest score of 172 Jaipur against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, where Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell impressed with half-centuries.

Rajasthan was unable to reach 59 in the end, with four batsmen scoring ducks and RCB triumphed with a huge 112 runs win.

Orange Cap

  • He is a rising superstar and Shubman Gill was the highest player in the batsmen’s rankings, with 890 runs. Gill recorded three centuries as well as four half-centuries and an average of 157.80.
  • RCB captain Faf du Plessis was the second-best player, scoring 730 runs, and eight half-centuries. CSK’s Devon Conway was third on the list, scoring 672 runs.
  • He was followed by Virat Kohli, who scored 639 runs comprising two centuries, six half-centuries and more. Yashasvi Jaiswal finished in fifth position with 625 runs, five half-centuries and a century.

Purple Cap

The Gujarat Titans had a splendid season with Mohammad Shami leading the pack taking 28 wickets that comprised two hauls of four wickets as well as recording an 11/4 score as his best bowling score of the season.

The second bowler was Mohit Sharma who took 27 wickets including five wickets during his 99th game of an important Qualifier 2 where Gujarat defeated the Mumbai Indians.

Kolkata and Punjab did not finish the season, ending in eighth and seventh positions with 12 points each. Delhi, which was missing Rishabh Pant, was in ninth place with 10 points.
