Karen Brady makes a bombshell revelation that West Ham fans will find painful to read.

Despite a few disappointments, West Ham’s recruitment over the last few seasons has been excellent. Lucas Paqueta, Mohammed Kudus, and Edson Alvarez have all made excellent additions to the squad.

However, there is one player they will be unhappy not to have signed: Cole Palmer. The midfielder eventually joined Chelsea for £42.5 million, but he had previously been linked with a move to the London Stadium.

He is currently the Premier League’s joint leading goalscorer, with 20 goals and 9 assists. For the most part, Chelsea has been terrible this season, making it all the more impressive that he is putting up those figures.

Obviously, he would have been an amazing addition for any club, but the fact that West Ham came so close to signing him will crush fans hearts. “From all the newsreels I’ve seen, Cole is as cool a dude in front of goal as Jimmy Greaves himself,” Karen Brady said to The Sun.

“That’s probably why David Moyes fought so hard to sign him. We even had a contract with City before Chelsea swooped.”

Signing him could have been the difference between our Irons winning another season of European football. Unfortunately, Chelsea is reaping the rewards of West Ham’s failure to complete the transaction sooner, which may explain why they finish ahead of their London rivals.
