New York Knicks Could Consider Pursuit Of Pascal Siakam In Free Agency

The New York Knicks are going to be a very intriguing team to watch throughout the course of the upcoming NBA offseason. After falling to the Indiana Pacers in the second round of the NBA Playoffs, some changes may be made. Many expect them to pursue another star if an opportunity presents itself.

Heading into the offseason, there are a couple of big questions that need to be answered. Can the Knicks retain OG Anunoby and Isaiah Hartenstein? Will they look to move on from Julius Randle via a trade?

If the Knicks decide to move Randle, they could look at another option to replace him at the power forward position. There is one free agent that is starting to garner some buzz as a potential Knicks’ target.

New York Knicks Could Consider Pursuit Of Pascal Siakam In NBA Free Agency

Bleacher Report recently suggested that the Knicks could take a look at pursuing Pacers’ star forward Pascal Siakam in NBA free agency if they move Randle.

“Indiana Pacers power forward Pascal Siakam could be a name to watch if the Knicks decide to move Randle in the offseason. However, a Siakam-Anunoby reunion in New York probably isn’t likely.”

The second sentence is extremely important. Most believe that it is a forgone conclusion that Siakam will re-sign with the Pacers. Perhaps a team like the Knicks could force him to consider his options, but it’s unlikely that he’ll turn his back on Indiana at this point in time.

However, the thought of Siakam joining the Knicks is certainly an intriguing one.

NBA RUMORS & NEWS: New York Knicks, Pascal Siakam, and NBA Offseason Updates

Throughout the course of the 2023-24 season split between the Toronto Raptors and Pacers, Siakam averaged 21.7 points per game to go along with 7.1 rebounds and 4.3 assists. In the playoffs with Indiana, he has averaged 21.1 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists.

Siakam has always been an elite scorer. He can create his own shot, play off of teammates, or score in transition. That is exactly the kind of fit that the New York Knicks could be looking for this offseason.

Imagine Siakam joining the group of Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart, Donte DiVencenzo, possibly Anunoby and Hartenstein, and the rest of the Knicks’ core. He would instantly take them up a notch in the East.

While it’s fun to think about, it’s very unlikely that the Knicks would even be given a chance to make an offer to Pascal Siakam. He’s likely going to re-sign with the Pacers very quickly this offseason. But, crazier things have happened and Siakam is free to make his own decision if something else intrigues him.
