People might call Philadelphia Phillies slugger Kyle Schwarber strikeout-prone, one-dimensional, or flawed as a hitter.

And they might be right.

There is no denying, however, that the guy loves the spotlight.

Performing in the postseason has come relatively easy for the “strikeout-prone, one-dimensional” Schwarber.

He has a career .831 OPS in the regular season, but the number goes up to .892 in October.

The lefty-hitting thumper has been particularly productive in League Championship Series play throughout his MLB tenure.

He added two more home runs to his resume on Tuesday night.

Only one hitter in the history of the game surpasses Schwarber’s 10 LCS home runs to this point, and he is tied with the great Albert Pujols for second place.

That’s an impressive thing to achieve.

In total, he has 18 career long balls in postseason play, a very nice total for a 30-year-old player.

The Phillies as a whole are having a phenomenal postseason.

They are 7-1 to this point and are essentially performing like an MVP candidate offensively, with a .284/.366/.575 line, 19 home runs in eight games, and a .940 OPS.

Schwarber has been responsible for three of those home runs in the 2023 playoffs.

He is surrounded by talent in the dangerous Phillies lineup, but he represents quite a threat to opposing pitchers himself and is one of the most successful postseason batters in the league.
