OFFICIAL: Diego Alonso, new coach of Sevilla

Sevilla has made official the arrival of Diego Alonso to its bench, replacing José Luis Mendilibar, who was fired last Sunday. The Uruguayan coach knows the Spanish League perfectly since he already participated in it as a player, both in Atlético de Madrid and Valencia, Racing de Santander, Málaga, and Real Murcia, so he knows what he can face.

In principle, as announced by the Andalusian club itself, Diego Alonso will sign for the remainder of the season and if it goes well, they could negotiate his continuity, something similar to what was done with Mendilibar last season, who saved the club from relegation. He won the Europa League and ended up renewing his contract. Now Diego Alonso is the one who will have to win over the fans since he is a coach with relatively little experience and we will have to see how he works in a club as big as Seville.
