As a result, they were positioned in the top four of the table, where they remained for the remainder of the campaign.

The key players for Al-Shabab FC in last season:

• Ever Banega (Argentina): Banega served as the team’s captain and talisman. With 12 assists, he was the league’s best assist producer.

• Odion Ighalo (Nigeria): With 19 goals, Ighalo led the team in scoring. Behind Abderrazak Hamdallah, he was the league’s second-leading scorer.

 • Abdullah Otayf (Saudi Arabia): Otayf was a reliable player in the midfield. With 8 goals last season, he was also a proficient goal scorer.

Al-Hazem FC

Al-Hazem FC had a mediocre year in 2022, ending with 17 points in 16th place in the league. They were at the bottom of the table. Al-Hazem FC was one of the league’s most erratic clubs, winning just 4 games all season. With just 23 goals of 30 matches, they were also among the league’s most vulnerable teams.

Al-Hazem FC had a very bad start to the season, winning only one of their first 10 games. They were relegated as a result of this. They were able to turn things around, though, and they won 4 games by the end of the season. 

They had to play Al-Riyadh FC in the relegation play-off as a result. Al-Hazem FC was able to prevail in the play-off and maintain its position at the top.

Al-Hazem FC’s key players last season were:

  • Rodrigo Souza (Brazil): With 10 goals, Souza led the team in scoring. He also served as the team’s leader.
  • Mohammed Al-Kuwaykibi (Saudi Arabia) put in a strong performance in the middle of the field. With 7 goals last season, he was also a proficient goal scorer.
  • Waleed Bakshween (Saudi Arabia) was an excellent all-around athlete. He could play in both midfield and defense.

Al-Shabab FC, in general, had a significantly better season than Al-Hazem FC had the previous year. Al-Shabab FC was one of the league’s most reliable clubs and earned a spot in the AFC Champions League. Al-Hazem FC, on the other hand, was one of the league’s most unreliable teams and was forced to participate in a play-off for relegation.
