The Morning After
After a 24-10 win against the rivial NFC South team Carolina Panthers, the Falcons were feeling good today. However, the team acknowledged that the game almost got away from them in the 2nd quarter and that there were things that needed to be corrected, despite the win.
“There was parts of the game that were not aesthetically pleasing, but we found a way to win and we needed to make those plays late,” said Head Coach Arthur Smith in a press conference today. “However we do it we needed to get that win especially at home and in the division.”
He stressed that the Falcons needed to keep up the improvements they have been trying to implement because a big win can be proceeded by a big loss in today’s NFL. Coach Smith said he is focused on getting the team ready for the upcoming game with the Green Bay Packers.
Crowd Gets Loud
Coach Smith said the crowd getting loud and supportive this past Sunday played a role in the team securing the win.
“The crowd was unbelievable yesterday and they did have an effect, especially in the second half, ” he said. Coach Smith said that the crowd noise led to a false start call for the Panthers that led to a penalty that cost them yardage, an advantage for the Falcons.
The team encouraged fans to come to the game early and ready to make noise for the team. Many observers in the stadium said it was the loudest they’ve heard fans at a Falcons game at the Benz. Coach Smith said it was the loudest he’s heard at the stadium since his arrival in Atlanta.
Coach Smith Updates Injuries
Not much news on the injury front from Coach Smith. He noted that Cordarrelle Patterson and Jeff Okudah are improving and the team should have more to report on their conditions Wendesday.

The Falcons will face the Jacksonville Jaguars October 1st in London. And they will have a very animated look while they are there. Disney announced today that ESPN will broadcast an alternate kid-centric broadcast on Disney+ and ESPN+ in full amimation in real time in the room of Andy from Disney’s Toy Story. Titled “Funday Football”, this marks the first time a NFL pro football game has been presented live and fully aminated.
“Andy’s room will replicate the on-the-field gameplay from Wembley Stadium [where the real action will take place], where each Falcon and Jaguar player will have animated representation on a traditional lookng field, catered to the “Toy Story” setting,” said a press statement from Disney+. The tracking tech from NFL’s Next Gen Stats player tracking data and Beyond Sports will enable fans to experience every real life play made in animated form.
Viewers to Disney’s animated version won’t miss much of what really happens on the field because they will see graphics, announcers, penalties and other game experiences in the “Toy Story” themed packaging and delivery. Disney+ says that “Toy Story” stars Buzz Lightyear, Woody and more will be there as well.
