This would be a new club-record transfer fee for Arsenal and potentially make Osimhen the most expensive player ever signed by a Premier League club.
Osimhen has established himself as one of the top strikers in Europe after an extremely successful season and a half with Napoli. Since joining Napoli from Lille in 2020, the athletic forward has scored 46 goals in just 78 matches across all competitions.
Last season, Osimhen’s impressive goal scoring form played a key role in helping Napoli win their first Serie A title since the days of legend Diego Maradona over 30 years ago. The athletic 24-year-old striker netted 18 league goals to lead Napoli to domestic glory, ending their over three decade Scudetto drought. With his standout performances in front of goal leading Napoli to title success, Osimhen unsurprisingly drew significant transfer interest from top European clubs hoping to acquire his lethal scoring talents.

Eager to add further attacking firepower as they seek to maintain momentum in the Premier League title race, Arsenal have joined the race to sign the talented Nigerian striker. As reported by leading Italian sports daily Gazzetta dello Sport, the Gunners’ recruitment team have already contacted Osimhen’s representatives and are formulating an enormous €140 million (£120 million) offer.

If Arsenal’s reported £120 million bid happens, it would greatly exceed the £72 million they paid Lille for winger Nicolas Pepe in 2019, which is Arsenal’s club record transfer fee. It would also surpass the current British record – the £100 million Manchester City paid Aston Villa for Jack Grealish in 2021.
Osimhen’s transfer value and salary demands have risen sharply due to his prolific goalscoring for Napoli. Though he is under contract until 2025, league leaders Napoli may struggle to turn down an enormous offer from Premier League table-toppers Arsenal.
Signing Osimhen would also require Arsenal to dramatically increase their current wage structure. While Osimhen earns about €4.5 million per year at Napoli, he could make up to three times that at Arsenal. However, manager Mikel Arteta appears to have the club’s full support to spend big money as Arsenal look to win their first league title since 2004.
While domestic rivals Chelsea and Manchester United have also registered interest, Arsenal is believed to be at the head of the queue to secure Osimhen’s signature. Osimhen’s explosive speed and clinical finishing would give Arsenal a new attacking weapon to compete with the top teams in Europe.
According to respected journalist Alfredo Pedulla, an offer ranging from €120-140 million would likely tempt Napoli into a sale. Osimhen himself is settled in Naples but may find the lure of spearheading Arsenal’s attack too good to turn down at this stage of his career.
