Milwaukee Bucks Fall In Double Overtime Against the Los Angeles Lakers

The Milwaukee Bucks seemed in control all night long against the Los Angeles Lakers, but the Lakers kept punching back and never quit against the Bucks. Without Lebron James, Los Angeles was able to steal one on the road against Milwaukee and won in double overtime by a final score of 128-124.

This was a game that the Milwaukee Bucks slipped away and would like to have back. With the loss, the Bucks dropped 46-26 on the year and have a two-game lead for the two-seed on the Cleveland Cavaliers. As for the Lakers, they improved to 40-32 on the year and are still the ninth seed in the Western Conference.

Five different players scored in double figures for the Bucks. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the way with 29 points, 21 rebounds, 11 assists, three blocks, and two steals. Antetokounmpo recorded a triple-double and it goes to show what kind of dominant player he is on a night-to-night basis.

Damian Lillard scored 27 points, grabbed five rebounds, recorded eight assists, and recorded one steal. Malik Beasley scored 21 points, Khris Middleton scored 12 points, and Bobby Portis Jr. added 18 points off the bench for the Milwaukee Bucks.

Bucks head coach Doc Rivers spoke to Eric Nehm of The Athletic after the game and told him:

“We didn’t trust the pass tonight. A lot of zero-pass shots or one-pass shots and when we play like that – we get away with it sometimes because guys make shots – but we lost our trust.”

Lakers head coach Darvin Ham has to be proud of the way his team fought throughout the whole night. Anthony Davis led the way for Los Angeles with 34 points, 23 rebounds, two assists, four blocks, and two steals. He had some big-shot blocks throughout the game and was unstoppable on both ends of the floor.

Austin Reaves and D’Angelo Russell each scored 29 points for the Lakers against the Bucks. Rui Hachimura also added 16 points for the Lakers. Lebron James is expected to play on Wednesday night in the second game of a back-to-back against the Memphis Grizzlies. As for the Bucks, these are the kind of games they can’t be losing.
