The Green Bay Packers will get their 2021 first-round pick back ahead of their Week 7 matchup with the Denver Broncos. The Packers announced they released a linebacker to make room for the activation for their secondary.

Head coach Joe Barry said earlier this season that defensive back Eric Stokes being out was a “champagne problem” for the Packers’ defense. According to a statement by the Packers Saturday afternoon, Stokes will make his first appearance on the roster since Week 9 last season as they activated him off the PUP list:

The Packers released linebacker Justin Hollins to make room for Stokes. Stokes was listed as questionable to play the Broncos on the Packers Week 7 injury report. He was limited at practice all week.
One would assume the Packers plan for Stokes to play if they activated him on Saturday.
Stokes’ return comes at a fortunate time for the defense. Jaire Alexander is questionable to play the Broncos due to his lingering back injury. Alexander did not practice on Friday.
