The Green Bay Packers are heading into their bye week 2-3 after their Monday Night loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. Even with Packers fans taking up more than half of the crowd, the Raiders were the ones who got the last laugh.
The Packers’ offense has come under scrutiny over the last few weeks. Obviously, injuries have played a role in the offense’s ability to consistently score points. Aaron Jones and Christian Watson (arguably the best two offensive weapons on the team) have both missed a significant portion of the season.
The Green Bay Packers Land New York Jets Running Back Dalvin Cook In Bold Trade Proposal

This past week, the New York Jets seemed to use running back Michael Carter more than they did veteran Dalvin Cook. Before the season, fans were excited to see Cook alongside Breece Hall and were anticipating some serious damage done in the back field from that duo. However, through five games, Cook has not looked like the same guy he once was.
Now, why would the Packers want to take a chance on Cook? Well, there are a couple of reasons. First of all, A.J. Dillon has been downright abysmal filling in for Aaron Jones. And, once Jones comes back, the Packers will still at least need a compliment to their starter.

Cook could still give the Packers 8-10 solid touches per game, including being active in the passing game as well. Here’s another wrinkle, though: coming back to the NFC North with an opportunity to play against the team which let you go is a huge motivating factor.
Cook also knows the rest of the NFC North well, and that could help play into him coming to Green Bay. If he doesn’t work out, the Packers aren’t out much at all with this being a conditional pick.
Cook’s 2.7 yards per carry rank second-worst out of 57 qualified running backs (min. 30 carries), ahead of only Cam Akers. Those numbers are bad enough by themselves, but when you dig deeper into the advanced statistics, the picture gets even worse.
With -1.5 RYOE (Rushing Yards Over Expected) per carry, Cook ranks second-worst ahead of only Akers, according to NFL Next Gen Stats. As a result, Cook consistently leaves yards on the field by underperforming in comparison to his blocking. Depending on the quality of the blocking Cook receives on each play, he is expected to average 4.2 yards per carry. He’s costing the Jets nearly two yards per carry.
It is safe to say that Cook is struggling in New York, a change of scenery could be good for the veteran back. Just last year cook had nearly 1,500 all purpose yards and 10 total touchdowns. The 28-year-old running back still has a lot left in the tank.
